Girl Friday: The Girl with the Mask

Whatever happens, turn it to your advantage. This has been my motto throughout the years. It's the motto with which I stepped into the new year on my high heels last year, and it's the exact same motto with which I plan to dance into 2022 in my ballerinas today. This series of pictures is dedicated to the motto I opened this post with.

I recently read in the paper how a man who was not wearing a mask and was reprimanded by the police, decided to bite them in protest. I could not believe my eyes! Another man who refused to wear a mask in the supermarket decided to throw himself down in front of the security guards. Perhaps this sort of thing has always happened in the world, yet it makes me wonder - where do people find the energy to engage in such manoeuvres? Why waste one's energy on something that ultimately brings no benefit? Surely it brings only harm in the long run. Or are these the kind of people who gain energy from their protest? If so, there's nothing to be done ... We're from different planets.

Wearing a mask is required in Estonia. And for me, masks have become one of my ways to add colour to my outfit. So I ordered several packs of different coloured masks labelled FFP2  from Amazon and now, when I have to put a mask on somewhere, I love doing so. My colourful masks have become accessories that add a pop of colour to my outfits. I have also noticed that they not only cheer me up but others too. How else to explain the many strangers who have been curious about where I bought my masks? At the end of the year, I advise everyone to turn every situation, no matter how hopeless, embarrassing, funny or upsetting, to their advantage. Save your energy for the right battles and most importantly ... look after yourself.

We took this series of photos with photographer Kristin Arniste on a cozy December evening while mixing my whimsical masks and colourful outfits. See you in the New Year with new inspirations!

Ükskõik, mis juhtub, pööra see enda kasuks. See on olnud läbi aastate minu moto. Selle mõttega astusin möödunud aastal kõrgetel kontsadel uude ja täpselt sama motoga kavatsen tantsida täna baleriinades aastasse 2022. See pildiseeria on pühendatud minu motole, millega postitust alustasin.

Me tuleme erinevatelt planeetidelt.

Maski kandmine on meil täna kohustuslik.
